Corrosion Inhibition of Mild Steel with Tolyltriazole

Tolyltriazole (TTA) is a well-defined corrosion inhibitor for copper and alloys. However, there little literature about its inhibition performance mild steels in corrosive environments. This paper studied the electrochemical behavior of TTA 0.5 M HCl solutions. Also, morphology nature layers on steel surface were investigated. Electrochemical results showed that an excellent acidic media with efficiency 91% 0.07 concentration. The also indicated mixed-type inhibitor. XRD analysis revealed mechanism based formation organic film due to physically adsorbed molecules TTA. AFM EDS formed decrease adsorptivity elements (Cl-) surface. Density Functional Theory (DFT) study confirmed experimental results.
